General
Directions to Canton NY from------
New York State
Albany (3 1/2 hours): Take I-87 North (the Adirondack Northway) to
Exit 23 at Warrensburg (approximately 1 hour). Take Route 9 to Route 28
to Blue Mountain Lake. Take Route 30 to Tupper Lake, then Route 3 West
to Route 56 North. Follow Route 56 North to Colton and take Route 68 to
Canton.
Syracuse (2 1/2 hours): Take I-81 North to Exit 48. Take Route 342 to
Route 11 North to Canton.
Utica (2 1/2 hours): Take Route 12 North to Route 11 North to Canton
Vermont:
Burlington (3 hours): Take I-89 North to Swanton. Take Route 78 to Route 2 to Route 11 South to Malone. Take Route 11B South to Potsdam where you will join Route 11 South to Canton.
Connecticut:
Hartford (6 hours): Take I-91 North to the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90
West) to Albany, NY. Pick up I-787 and follow signs to I-87 North, then
follow directions for above Albany, NY
CANADA:
Ottawa, Canada (1 1/2 hours): Take Route 16 South to Prescott.
Cross the bridge to the United States at Ogdensburg, NY and take Route
37 South, then 68 to Canton.
Toronto, Canada (4 1/2 hours): Follow Route 401 to Prescott. Cross the bridge to the United States at Ogdensburg, NY to Route 37 South, then Route 68 to Canton.
Directions to Madrid Canoe Regatta
Follow directions to Canton above.
Canton to Madrid (10 minutes): At the north end of Canton on Rt. 11, turn
west on 310. The corner is marked by a Stewarts gas station and Pizza
Hut. Stay on 310 until the first stop sign in about 10 miles, you are
in Madrid. Turn left at the stop sigh, the Madrid Community Park will
be on your left (200 yards).
Directions to Remington II (Rensselaer Falls)
From Rt. 11 North
5 miles north of Richville, turn left on Rt 812
5 miles west, just after crossing the river, turn right on CR 14
About 3 miles to Rensselaer Falls- when road turns right an crosses the
river you should go straight ahead. Start & registration is about
1 mile down that road on river left.
To get to finish you would cross the river on CR 14, turn left on Rensselaer
Falls-Heuvelton Rd
(CR 15). It's approximately 4 miles to Heuvelton. Turn left on CR 10,
cross river, take 1st left- finish area is 1/4 mile from corner.
